Samsung Gallery Loses OneDrive Sync This September
Samsung and Microsoft are ending their Gallery-to-OneDrive sync integration on September 30, 2026. Photos will no longer appear in the Gallery app, though users can still back up media via the standalone OneDrive app. Alternatives include Google Photos, Dropbox, and self-hosted options like Immich.
If you've owned a Samsung Galaxy phone for any length of time, you've definitely seen that friendly nudge: Back up your photos to OneDrive. It's been a solid partnership—Samsung makes the hardware, Microsoft brings the cloud, and you get a Google Photos alternative that actually plays nice with your Windows PC. But come October, that party's over.
